There are a few things to consider before you
choose a hosting plan. We'll try to cover some of the basics
here, but if you have any questions, feel free to contact
us (hosting @ masterwebcreations.com).
If you plan on developing your own pages, or learning
to write code, whether it is basic HTML or more structured
programming like C++, does the hosting company have support
if you have a question or a problem?
Master Web Creations can provide some help and
guidance in some areas, but not all. We can guide you in
the direction you need to take, but we do not yet provide
support for C++. We can help install CGI scripts in Perl
and troubleshoot Javascript among other things.
Is there tech support in emergency situations,
for example, if the site goes down?
Master Web Creations has been providing hosting
to small businesses for nearly four years. We do not provide
24-hour customer support, as we are still growing (we host
or provide other services to 10 companies or web site owners
as of July, 2007). We do, however respond to email inquiries
as quickly as possible.
What are the hosting company's email policies
or practices?
We do not support or promote SPAM, but if you
are interested in email newsletters, contact
us and we can help. In maintaining your email account,
if you intend to use one of the web-based email services,
we suggest you keep your mailbox clean, to minimize space
used. Otherwise, use your favorite email software to download
it to your computer. We also provide a SPAM blocker and
email filters free of charge.
Are there extra fees involved for exceeding my
monthly bandwidth limit?
Master Web Creations will not charge you extra
for anything that you were not previously made aware of.
While you have quotas and limits on each account, you will
receive an email notification of approaching your limits.
Should you exceed any limit, we will contact you and discuss
any options you have for either increasing your limits or
adding monthly fees when those limits are breached.
How do I know how much space I need?
Files including graphics, html pages, documents
and scripts all consume disk space. If you have or design
a graphic-intensive or very large site with more than 50
web pages and additional documents, you should purchase
a medium-sized account. If you expect a lot of traffic to
your site, for example 500 or more visits per month, you
should purchase a large account, or contact
us regarding your specific needs to possibly purchase
extra bandwidth, if you don't plan on using a lot of disk
space.
